Chayden Richie

Chayden Richie (35). Born and raised in Amsterdam West, with his roots 100% in Suriname. He was influenced by his cousin who sang at home every day and wrote her own lyrics.

Richie comes from a musical family, his brother also rapped, made beats and formed a formation with his friends (including brothers Cimo & Kera Frankel), his super musical cousin who loved to sing and has an affinity with Surinamese instruments.

Chayden taught himself to sing, although it may have been in his genes, as his (late) grandmother with her beautiful voice also loved to sing Gospel songs every day.

Chayden Richie has been rapping and writing his own lyrics since he was 15. From 17 onwards, he performed on various (theatre) stages and participated in several talent shows. As soon as he finished his studies (Social Cultural Worker/Event and Workshop Organizer), he immediately started working to cover his studio and music video costs.

He's going into security (2010). Together with the producers of Hyplified (known for Keizer & BolleBof, among others)  In 2012, he began a short collaboration that resulted in the song "Samen" (Together). Chayden Richie has a long road full of obstacles and learning moments behind him. With each day a little closer to his goals (putting music, his own clothing line, and being an example to many on the map), his motto is, "Every time I come back, it has to be harder and better than ever."  Last time! With his versatility and drive, he surprises everyone time and again with his skills and diversity.
